Brief
London castles and palaces are among the most popular castles in the world. On our London tour, plans will be made to visit the following castles and palaces according to seasonal intensity.
The Castle of London (or Tower of London as it is known) is a place that contains many sections, which are used by royal people for different purposes during the Royal period. The Tower of London was a prison and a zoo sometimes (until the 19th century) in royal times. Tower of London, one of the most magnificent and touristic structures of the city today, was a place that witnessed the most interesting events in the region in the 1000s.
Windsor castleIt is one of the official main residences of the British monarchy, with Buckingham Palace and Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. Staying at Buckhingam Palace in the winter months, the queen prefers the Windsor Palace in the summer. Whichever palace the queen is in, the flag in front of her is hoisted. Many of England's kings and queens had a direct influence on the construction and development of the palace, each of which served themselves as garrison, fortress, residence, official palace, and sometimes prison according to their time. When the country was at peace, large and magnificent rooms were added to the palace. During the war, the palace was reinforced. The fire that broke out in the castle in 1992 damaged approximately 100 rooms. The castle features works by artists such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Canaletto and Gainsborough. The dollhouse of Queen Mary, also located in the castle, is still the most famous dollhouse in the world. The dining table in the St. George hall can accommodate 160 guests. The castle has the size of 268 tennis courts, and its 40 rooms are actively used.
As the name suggests, this is a historical castle, almost like Rapunzel's castle. Severndroog Castle has a very real and tragic story. Lady James had this castle built in memory of her husband Sir William towards the end of the 18th century. The most striking story about Severndroog Castle is that in 1755, he destroyed a group of pirates in his castle. You should definitely climb to the top of the castle for a 360-degree view. This castle is located on Shooters Hill.
Buckingham PalaceBuilt in 1703 in the Neo-Classical style, the palace takes its name from the mansion built in the name of the dukes of Buckingham. Buckingham Palace, which covers a huge area of 77 thousand square meters, is 24 meters high. One of London's most magnificent buildings and the world-famous palace, it is also the residence of the British Royal family. It is also called the 'Queen's House'. The palace has 775 rooms consisting of dozens of sections.
Kensington PalaceToday, this palace, which is one of the places that tourists who visit London want to see first, is the famous British king VIII. Henry had it built. The king wanted to build a palace and liked the hospital's lands where leper young girls were closed since the 12th century and built the palace here. The king's half sister has always been disturbed by this situation and hardly ever set foot here. This palace was also used as a dungeon in history.
