The Suffolk-place-farm, which Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk, sold to Sir Martin Bowes in 1535, descended to the Barnes and Althams together with Bostall. It was sold in 1650 to Sir Robert Josselyn, Knt., who gave it to the Company for the Propagation of the Gospel in New England and adjoining areas.
