Please input zip code DE74 2SA or post code into your cars GPS system.
The airport can be reached by exiting at J23A of the M1 and taking the A453 until you reach your destination which is signposted along Ashby Rd. The nearby towns and cities of Nottingham, Birmingham and Leicester are within driving distance of the airport.
The airport has a car lift share policy for frequent flyers to and from the airport. Passengers can be matched up with other travelers of similar needs and location. The idea behind the scheme is to cut down on single passengers using one car. If 3 or 4 persons can travel by the same car to the airport and share the costs of travelling, the environment benefits due to low emissions and less pollution.
There are a number of buses which operate from the airport to local areas. The sky link service can drop passengers off at Derby. Loughborough, Leicester and Nottingham. All the service run on a 24 hour basis at frequent intervals in between. For passengers wishing to travel to Coalville they can board the air link 155 bus which operates hourly throughout the day.
As there are no train stations based at the airport. Passengers can catch the rail link bus which will drop them off at the East Midlands Parkway Railway Station. The service which runs every thirty minutes until 2330 from 0700 can connect travellers to other destinations by rail such as London, Lincoln and Derby.
At present there is a taxi company named Great Britain Cars which can be found outside the terminal building after arriving. The taxis can be boarded any time day or night.
Passengers who wish to carry on their journey to another town or city can take the national express service from the airport. This coach service also drops passengers off at Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport.
The only company offering car hire at present from East Midlands Airport would appear to be Great Britain Cars
